SUPPLEMENTARY CEMENTITIOUS MATERIALS

PENTA markets

Supplementary Cementitious Materials

Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCMs) are sustainable construction materials commonly used in construction to reduce the amount of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) required in concrete mixtures. When added to concrete, SCMs improve durability, strength, resistance to cracking and permeability. Examples of SCMs include:

Coal Combustion Residuals: Fly Ash and Bottom Ash, landfilled or ponded, are all by-products from coal fired power plants.

Ground Blast Furnace Slag (GBFS): A by-product of steel production, GBFS can be processed to Granulated Ground Blast Furnace Slag (GGBFS).

Natural Pozzolans – Calcined Clay: Mined natural minerals that are processed (milling/classification/calcination).

Silica Fume: Ultra-fine powder, which is a by-product of silicon and ferrosilicon production.

PENTA is your trusted partner for projects that support carbon emissions reduction targets. We help our clients by providing efficient and cost-effective project execution strategies and solutions to meet target project economics and schedule.
